He plays some serious stuff on that live record with Jill Scott.
Haven't heard him on other records than that.
Maybe he's drumming for D'angelo too, when i hear his live bootleg, that drummer has same style of playing as Erik.
Ok, since I'm finally at a drum forum where people really know their stuff, does anyone have any info about this guy, as I'd love to get more CD's that he plays on. He has some wicked grooves throughout the CD. This short clip is from a CD I have called 'experience' by Jill Scott. All I could find was that he plays or used to play at some jazz club in the US.

Cool, someone else that has heard this CD! I sound surprised, but I haven't come across any drummers yet that know him. Good man
So far as D'Angelo, It would appear the drummer was Ahmir ?uestlove Thompson on 'voodoo'. Don't know about 'brown sugar' CD though.

Man,
I just spent some time with an amazing drummer called Brian Fraiser-Moore who plays with Christina Aguliera. He's not got much of a profile in the UK, he's just so humble about his playing but he just smokes.....Brian's going to be in UK drum magazine "Drummer" in a month or so.
He played with Jill Scott, on one of her albums in fact, and he mentioned Eric a lot.

Nice info! I haven't heard of brian fraser moore, but if he played with jill scott, I wanna hear more of him.
As far as I know she so far has only recorded 'experience' and 'who's jill scott' so perhaps Brian was on the latter which was her first cd? I have the CD but no sleeve notes. I'll definitely look out for that issue of 'drummer'. So, what was he saying about erik, and how did you come to meet brian? I'm really interested now.

edit: by the way, do you have any idea how that section of music I linked would have been written? I haven't quite figured out it out yet. Seems pretty damn complex, but might look easier seeing the dots.

That clip was good, but now I'm wanting to hear how he locks into the groove after the lead in fills!
Feel like sharing or tradin'?

I believe there is an ad in the latest MD featuring Brian Fraser Moore, for TAMA drums. A big spread on him and I vaguely recall alittle info on who he has played with and currently playing for.
Eric Tribbett is a bad man, too! Thank goodness I am not the only person who has heard the live cd! I thank my youngest son for hipping me to it! I read somewhere that he is on tour with a female artist. Rapper? I'd like to have a couple of hours with Eric, to get him to show me a couple of things. He does a nasty fill, during one of Jill's slow songs. (I forget which) but it is so smooth and fast! He plays for the song and embellishes, seemingly at the right time to push the song along. These are the type of artists that MD seems to miss altogether. A shame that!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Damn, I would LOVE to have some time with Erik as well, he rocks my world at the moment. He has, to me, the finest combination of chops and feel, and a great drum sound, though live gig drum sounds often sound good to me. I agree, I think he needs some coverage in magazines, he's too good to pass up on.Originally posted by spizzknckr:

I wish I knew which fill you mean. I presume you heard the clip I pasted with a tasty fill between songs? Could it be that one? >>>

I heard the clip, but; no it wasn't on that tune. I would have to revisit the cd and figure out which one it is. It may have been on one of the slower tunes. I'll get back to you on it.
